  • Pre-Startup Check
    • Inspect leaves, filter cloths, valves, and seals.
    • Ensure gauges and instruments are functional.
    • Clean or rinse leaves and cloths.
  • Startup
    • Close discharge and outlet valves.
    • Start feed pump gradually to operating pressure.
    • Ensure leaves are wetted and air is removed.
  • Normal Operation
    • Maintain stable pressure and flow.
    • Monitor pressure differential; clean or replace leaves/cloths if clogged.
    • Take periodic filtrate samples.
  • Shutdown
    • Stop feed pump, drain filtrate slowly.
    • Open discharge valve to remove filter cake.
    • Clean and sanitize leaves, cloths, and housing.
  • Safety & Maintenance
    • Wear PPE (gloves, goggles, protective clothing).
