Operating Standards

  • Pre-Startup Check
    • Inspect filter housing, candle elements, valves, and seals.
    • Ensure gauges and instruments are functional.
    • Clean or rinse filter elements.
  • Startup
    • Close discharge and outlet valves.
    • Start feed pump gradually, raise to working pressure.
    • Ensure candle elements are fully wetted, no air trapped.
  • Normal Operation
    • Maintain stable pressure and flow.
    • Monitor pressure differential; replace or clean candles when clogged.
    • Take periodic samples to check filtrate quality.
  • Shutdown
    • Stop feed pump, slowly open outlet valve to drain.
    • Open discharge valve to remove filter cake.
    • Clean or sterilize filter elements and housing.
  • Safety & Maintenance
    • Wear PPE (gloves, goggles, protective clothing).
    • Regularly check candle wear and equipment performance.
    • Record operation parameters and results.
