The CLV type pressure leaf filter is an ideal solution for batch processing applications requiring high flow rates, efficient solid removal, and a compact footprint. It is especially suitable for applications with limited installation space or processes requiring periodic production interruptions. Horizontal pressure leaf filter models are also available to meet different industrial requirements.
The filter adopts a fully enclosed design without filter cloth. The filter leaves are constructed with five layers of stainless steel wire mesh, providing long service life and low maintenance costs. Fully automated operation reduces environmental contamination and labor requirements. Various filter aids can be added according to process needs.
With filtration areas ranging from 3 m² to 125 m², the filter supports both dry cake discharge and wet cake discharge modes, providing flexible solutions for different industrial production processes.
UNITE vertical pressure leaf filters are closed batch filtration systems designed for high-solids slurry clarification and filter cake recovery. Multiple stainless steel filter leaves provide a large filtration area in a compact vessel, while optional precoat filtration, cake washing, drying, and pneumatic vibration discharge can be configured for edible oil refining, chemical processing, petrochemical filtration, and fine chemical production.

A Pressure Leaf Filter is a closed filtration system that uses vertical or horizontal leaf-shaped filter elements inside a pressure vessel to separate solids from liquids. It is commonly used for fine clarification and high-efficiency solid-liquid separation.
The slurry enters a sealed tank under pressure, and liquid passes through filter leaves covered with filter media. Solids are retained on the surface, forming a filter cake. When filtration is complete, the cake is discharged by vibration, gas blowback, or washing.
Key advantages include large filtration area in a compact footprint, high filtration clarity, closed operation to prevent contamination, low labor requirement, and suitability for automated batch or continuous processes.
Pressure Leaf Filters are widely used in chemical processing, edible oil refining, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, and fine chemical industries where high clarity and efficient solid-liquid separation are required.
A Pressure Leaf Filter uses flat or vertical leaf elements and is suitable for larger filtration areas and coarser or higher-volume slurries. A Candle Filter uses cylindrical elements and is better for fine particles, higher automation, and tighter filtration precision.
For high-value, oxidation-sensitive fine chemical materials containing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), UNITE supplied BASF with a modular integrated system comprising a candle filter and a three-in-one filter dryer, also known as an Agitated Nutsche Filter Dryer (ANFD). The solution combines precision pre-clarification, solid-liquid separation, filter-cake washing, vacuum drying, and automatic discharge within an enclosed process. After commissioning, the project achieved a historic high in product purity, increased solvent recovery by 25%, and effectively eliminated odor leakage.
For Jiangxi Salt Chemical’s 55,000 t/y high-strength calcium sulfate project, UNITE supplied multiple large-scale automatic candle filters that integrate solid-liquid separation, displacement washing, pressure dewatering, back-pulse cake release, automatic discharge, and PLC-based process control. The project improved filter-cake washing, supported calcium sulfate quality above the stated industry benchmark, and reduced manual maintenance costs by approximately 60% compared with traditional filtration equipment.
The filtration area of a single set of candle filter for this project reaches 115 square meters and above, with significant differences from small-specification equipment in terms of structural design, process design and detailed considerations.
